The lack of public transportation for the workers allowed to return to their jobs has created chaos, confusion, and misery. While some were able to catch some free rides, others have resorted to walking long distances just to be able to go to work.
With no clear plan in place to ease up the burden of commuting, we have collected some alternatives that may help the commuting public on the duration of the general community quarantine in Metro Manila.
Use BikeScouts.org to find a bicycle you can borrow from their community. Bicycles are available for free or with a small fee. They do not earn anything from the rental fee, the full payment goes directly to the owner of the bicycle.
Life Cycles PH
Life Cycles PH aims to partner with hospitals, groceries, drugstores, and LGUs to help their front-liners get to work. They match frontliners with interested individuals who have a bike to spare.
PGH Care-pool is an online community created by concerned individuals at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). They coordinate transportation services for healthcare workers responding to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lend A Bike Project
The Lend-A-Bike Project provides bicycles as an alternative transport to frontliners and health workers. They connect volunteers who can lend their bicycles to workers in need.
